The National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America

The 23rd Annual National Conference

Reconstruct, Restore, Renew

June 22-24, 2012

Church of the Advocate
1801 W. Diamond Street
Philadelphia, PA 19121

 Welcome back to Philadelphia!

September 26, 2012 marks the 25th anniversary of the founding meeting of N’COBRA which took place on September 26th of that year. A primary purpose for forming the coalition was to build a popular base of support for the reparations movement. Over two decades later, it is time for a self-assessment and transformation of our collective approach to win Reparations in our lifetime.

The 2012 conference theme of Reconstruct, Restore and Renew was developed in order to give us the opportunity to collectively renew our approach and commitment to winning reparations in our lifetime.

In order to accomplish the above, an integral aspect of the conference will be the breakout sessions, one each to address the three components of the conference theme. These will be small groups, with a moderator participating in each group to help ensure that each participant has an opportunity for significant input.
Call for Articles
Articles for the program guide are welcomed, and all received will be reviewed and considered for publication. Please limit to three typed pages. Due by May 15, 2012.

Our demand for Reparations is based on that which people have always sought and always will seek: justice.

African peoples with millennia-long histories and diverse cultures were stolen from their homes, worked without pay for 246 years in the United States and officially discriminated against for another century of government-sanctioned brutality.

In seeking reparations, we are affirming our humanity; it is a just and honorable demand.
Please join us as we work to achieve this long sought victory in the name of our Ancestors.
